Tour de France. 9th stage. The peloton tackles the gently sloping Alps

The program covers 192.9 km in three cantons (Vaud Fribourg Valais), nearly all of which are in Swiss territory. 8 km from the finish is the border at 1377m at Pas de Morgins.

The race starts near the International Cycling Union headquarters (UCI). It then runs along Lake Geneva, passing through Gruyere to reach the Col des Mosses (2nd classification) and the Col de la Croix (1st category), a steeper climb at 7.6%. To tackle the Pas de Morgins climb (15.4 km, 6.1%, 1st class), the Tour route again passes through Aigle.

These two climbs in the 1st category could lead to a fight between the favourites. Even if the Jumbo or Ineos teams are able to surprise Tadej Pogacar, it is unlikely. Logic would prefer that there was a victorious breakaway, which would be played between climbers who are already well ahead in the general classification.

The Tour arrives in Haute-Savoie (1,200 habitants) for the second time in their history. This is 47 years after Lucien Van Impe's time trial success.

At 12.30 p.m., depart Aigle (launched at 12.45 pm.) Arrive in Chatel at 5.44 pm. (Timetable calculated at 39 km/h average).
