Monkeypox is spread from person to person by close contact with lesion, body fluids, and respiratory droplets.
Contact tracing operations can be difficult because it is impossible to identify the person who has transmitted the virus. There is also an under-declaration for contact cases. This includes sexual intercourse. The High Authority for Health recommends that all people at greatest risk of contamination be vaccinated. For more information:
"Men who have had sex with women (MSM), transgender people reporting multiple partners, People in a prostitution situation; Professionals working in places of sexual consumption regardless of their status.
However, it doesn't recommend that health care professionals who are caring for sick patients be pre-vaccinated. "The risk of contamination is very low when you follow the usual hygiene precautions and wear personal protective equipment."
