It is not accidental that the timing was perfect. The president and owner of Girondins Gerard Lopez announced on Twitter that he had placed 14 million euros in sequestration on Friday to help cover the club's cash flow for the 2022-2023 seasons. They would cover the cost of player sales required for the club's continuation.
This was one of the key points that led to the DNCG, then of the DNCG Appeals Committee of the Federation to degrade the club to National 1. It forced it into compulsory liquidation. The club placed 40 million euro bets on four points in its search for 40 million. These were the 10 million euro capital increase via Gerard Lopez's company, the profit-sharing from Aurelien Tchouameni's transfer (8.3 million Euros), and the contribution of 8.5m euros from the LFP, after CVC's stake. There was also a minimum of 14 million euros in player sales. The Federation's DNCG Appeal Commission had not been convinced by the bond line of credit that was opened to guarantee it.

Another important point is the restructuring and repayment of the debt. The transfer of half the amount owed to the club to investment funds King Street or Fortress to the company JB Dynamie ("grandmother") of the club has not been confirmed. The club has restarted discussions with its creditors.
The Girondins made a request to the French Olympic and Sports Committee for conciliation. This is a last resort in sport. The hearing should take place at the seat at the instance at the beginning or middle of next week (July 18, 19). The FFF Executive Committee must validate the favorable opinion.
