According to British media, a deal has been reached between Chelsea (Manchester City) and Rahem Sterling (Blues of England international winger).
He is expected to sign a five year contract with an optional season. This would make him the first recruit in the Todd Boehly era. Boehly, an American businessman, bought Chelsea with a group of investors at May's end. In the new club organization chart, he is currently the interim sporting director.
Sky reported that the London club would offer the services to the English striker (77 caps), for 47.5 million Pounds (56.1 Million Euros), while the BBC announced a transfer worth 50 million Pounds ( 59.1 Mio. euros) and bonuses. Chelsea hopes that Sterling will be able to complete the formalities in time so that he can participate in the preseason tour of the United States.

Sterling was a key player during Pep Guardiola’s early years at City. He scored 131 goals in 337 appearances with Manchester City. His starting position was under increasing threat after the signing of Jack Grealish, a record PS100million, last year and the rise of Phil Foden, a club-trained player.
City already have a stronger offensive with the arrivals Norwegian Erling Haaland, and Argentinian Julian Alvarez. Chelsea were looking for a goalscorer, after Romelu Lukaku was sent on loan to Inter Milan.
