The Ernautene bridge (also known as the Roman Bridge) was constructed or redeveloped 1661. It was the main route to cross the Nive des Aldudes for many years. The unique arch at its center is what gives it the Roman style nickname. It still bears the marks of the carts that once crossed it.
The attraction is this building, which is frequently the subject of a photo stop with the backdrop of the mountains in the valley, the village Church and the castle at Baigorri. The festival in his honor, organized by Baigorriko Animazio Batzordea in partnership with Baigorri, also features the same Roman Bridge.
The Roman Bridge festival will be held this Wednesday, July 13th, from 7 p.m. with zikiro in between the bread and musical entertainment by the Baga Biga band. Before the 11 p.m. fireworks display, food and drinks will be available on-site.
This fireworks display, which is prepared by Paxkal Indo, a professional artist, attracts a large crowd each year.
