Dominique Bussereau (ex-head of the Department) was to succeed Olivier Pagezy in "L'Hermione". Marc de Briancon was "much more equipped than I am on technical navigation issues" and he took his place. He promises to continue operating his networks "to assist the association."
On Saturday, July 9, the candidate who was previously vice-president responsible for navigations became the third president in 30 years.
The admiral, 64 years old, is originally from the southwest. He was married and a father. After sailing for 15 years, he commanded three ships: the aviso, "Le Surcouf", and "La Jeanne-d'Arc" helicopter carrier. The naval school was then his responsibility, and then the war school. His last post was as a Navy inspector. He led the surface fleet. He retired at the rank Wing Vice-Admiral.
He wants to share his knowledge with "L'Hermione", whom he was close to when he managed the naval school. The association had requested the French Navy to prepare navigation for the maiden voyage from France to the United States in 2015.
