Bordeaux Right Bank Polyclinic will close its emergency rooms on July 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 between 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., due to "difficulties with medical recruitment". In a press release, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) has indicated this in a Friday evening July 8. This is a temporary decision made by the ARS and the GBNA Polyclinics group.
The problem is the high absenteism and difficulties in medical recruitment. These are so severe that the usual levers such as group support, reorganization of service and interim were insufficient to alleviate the team's workload.
The emergency department will be reorganized over these five nights. The emergency reception will still be attended by a nurse and a nurse assistant. It will welcome and assess the patient, determine the reason for the visit, and then orient the patient according to severity, with respect to the services provided by the 15 and other establishments in the city.
Regional Health Agency (ARS), reminds you that it is better to call 15 at night and weekends before visiting the emergency room. This will help to prevent overloading the service. It is best to call your doctor during the day.
You should also note that the Pellegrin Hospital's emergency department (Bordeaux University Hospital), has been closed to the general public since May at the beginning of the evening to allow it to fully devote itself to critical patients. The Care Access Service (SAS), or center, manages emergencies every night.
