The government will use purchasing power to address the "from the beginning of the school year in September" labor shortage. This was stated by Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Economy, Sunday in Aix-en-Provence. He has also said that he would "reach out to" LR deputies on a variety of subjects.
"There is nothing more revolting, nothing more ''schadockie, choose the appropriate term, than to still be having so much unemployment, since we aren't at full employment and so companies looking at employees," said the minister at the Economic Meetings held at the Provencal.
"So, we must make this a priority at the beginning of school year." Bruno Le Maire stated that the shortage of labor must be addressed immediately.
He believed that this was the government's second emergency. "It occurs just after purchasing power," he said. A bill on the subject was presented to him last week by the Council of Ministers.
Last fall saw a reform that tightened the access and maintenance of unemployment insurance benefits. However, the amended decree is only effective until October 31.
This decree limits the number of days that are not worked in the calculation for the daily reference wage, which is the basis of unemployment benefits. It also makes it less penalizing job seekers who alternate between work and inactivity.
The Minister of Economy also showed an openness to the LR deputies he might need in order for the project on purchasing power to be adopted.
