Chateau Moncade will be reconnected with history on Wednesday, July 13, through the Orthez Animations great medieval day. The festivities will start at 10 a.m., and will end at 6 pm. Visitors can visit the tower from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
There will be many activities throughout the day, including a welcome conference about Vikings and Gascony at 10.30 am, followed by an hour of stories and sagas.
Following the lunch break there will be demonstrations and fights between knights. At 3:00 p.m., there will also be a conference about magic and the Volva. Tales and sagas from the past will be retold at 4 p.m. Combat demonstrations will take place around 5 p.m.
Animations will be supported throughout the day by demonstrations of old trades (leather and woodwork and typical medieval cuisine), offered under tents and stands with medieval sauce.
