Soni Lutz, a boxer from the Bassin Boxing Club won an important fight in K1 under 63.5 kg. This competition is a benchmark that brings together competitors from across Europe.
At the beginning of the season, the 19-year-old from Villejuif had won the Coupe de France. His next goals include qualifying for the French championship, and becoming semi-professional.
Laurent, his father, is a highly respected trainer who has trained many world and European champions in kickboxing. He explained that Soni is a great strategist and has a unfailing dedication to her work.
Mathieu Legay and Marie-Laure Pitoiset took over the once defunct Boxing Club du Bassin in 2014. It now boasts more than 170 members. There is a boxing school and a section for disabled athletes. They also practice kickboxing and French boxing.
This training club placed 3rd at the French "young” championship in French boxing. They also won an individual bronze medal in the weight category of less than 70kg.
